International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is next week – This is an annual event to show support for the efforts made by individuals and organisations to end racial discrimination worldwide. The event is commemorated every year on 21 March, the day that, police opened fire and killed 69 people at a peaceful protest in Sharpeville, South Africa in 1960, against the apartheid “pass laws”.
Read more about the day on the UN’s website here.
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are not planning on closing any class groups over the next two days due to strike action. However, we will stay in contact if anything changes.
Kind regards,
Angela Mumford
Dear Parents and Carers,
I completely support our Teachers' rights to strike, however I am also very much aware of the support our children and families need at the moment.
Therefore, we will not be closing the school on Strike days, unless staffing levels pose a significant Health and Safety risk.
If your child's class group is affected by the Strike, then a member of SLT will be in contact with you to discuss this.
Angela Mumford
Wishing all of our pupils, families and staff a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2023.
We look forward to seeing pupils back on 4th January 2023.
