Believe you can!
Working with families is essential to the success we see with our pupils.
Staff will liaise with parents regularly and welcome opportunities to discuss their child’s progress in both formal and informal meetings.
The school sets at least three meetings per year where progress is discussed with all relevant people, including the child. These are the IEP days and are always set on the first Monday after every half term.
Parents/Carers:
Some links to websites offering free reading for children.
1. Oxford Reading Scheme. These are the books we use in school as part of our reading scheme so pupils would be familiar with it.
All you have to do is make a free account which takes under 2 minutes.
2. The second is a website that offers free stories. Sometimes it’s nice to just listen.
There is also SENDIASS who are available to support parents: https://www.sloughsendiass.org.uk/
They offer confidential, impartial, individualised support and advice on the steps to take in areas of Education, Health and Social Care to empower those who seek our assistance. Their service is open to children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities, their parents and carers and professionals supporting them within education settings.
