Believe you can!
Keep up to date with all of our school events and news.
Dear all,
As some of you may know, the Muslim community will be celebrating Eid next week. We have a high level of staff who will be off work, celebrating with family and friends.
As such, we have had to make the decision that on Monday 31 March 2025, the school will be closed to all children expect those classified as “vulnerable”. These are children who currently have social care support.
However, Year 5 will be in school on Monday 31 March and will be off on Tuesday 1 April (unless considered "vulnerable").
Letters have gone home about this, this afternoon (or tomorrow if your child was not in today).
I appreciate that this is the second closure in as many weeks, so I thank you again for your co-operation and understanding.
I am sure you join me in wishing all of our pupils, families and colleagues who are celebrating, a very happy Eid.
Thank you
Angela Mumford
We have recently been awarded a grant from Tesco Stronger Starts; a scheme that gives community projects and schools like ours grants of up to £1,500. Further information can be found on their website: https://www.tescoplc.com/strongerstarts
Thank you to all the Tesco customers who voted for our school as this has enabled us to purchase scooters and tricycles to support with developing pupil’s physical health and wellbeing. They are being used as part of pupil’s Occupational Therapy Sessions; helping to develop physical skills including spatial awareness, balance, coordination and core stability.
Children throughout the school have also been using the scooters and tricycles especially at the end of the day when it has helped them to regulate before going home.
This is a valuable addition to the resources that we have in the school and children are enjoying using the equipment as can be seen in the photos.
Information from Slough SEND Team:
We are pleased to inform you of the launch of our new Keeping You Connected newsletter, specifically tailored to provide updates on our work in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This monthly newsletter aims to keep families, schools, and stakeholders informed about key initiatives, support services, and recent developments across the SEND landscape in our community.
The latest October issue is now available, and we’ve made it accessible through the SEND Local Offer, where it is prominently highlighted in both the ‘News and Articles’ section and in a dedicated dropdown menu for easy navigation. The newsletter is also available on our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities newsletter page, which we will be updating regularly with future editions.
We hope this additional communication channel will strengthen our connection with our SEND community and provide valuable insights into our progress, including updates on the priorities outlined in our Written Statement of Action (WSOA).
Congratulations to all Littledown pupils and PE staff for all their hard work!
We will be holding our Year Six Leaver's Assembly on Monday 22nd July at 1.15pm.
All families are invited to attend.
This will be the last day in school for year six pupils.
All other pupils will be moving in to their new class groups from Tuesday 23rd July.
We break up for the summer holiday at 12.30pm on Thursday 25th July 2024.
We will be holding our summer IEP review meetings on Monday 8th July. You will be receiving an invite to attend this meeting very soon. At this meeting your child's class teacher will be reviewing their targets and going through your child's summer report. Your child is invited to attend the meeting with you, but won't be in school the rest of the day.
A reminder that we have INSET day on Monday 24th June. Pupils will not be in school on that day. Thank you.
Congratulations to Miss Slater who has passed her Foundation degree. It's not easy working and studying full time, but Miss Slater has done this brilliantly. She always puts her class first and has been commended internally and externally for her teaching.
Well done!
Wishing all children, families and members of our local community a very happy Eid Al-Adha Mubarak.
